Designing your cover

Generate a colorized front cover, a matching back, and let the app build the full wraparound spread with the correct spine.

The cover is the only part of your book buyers see before clicking. Step 7 generates a colorized front cover that matches your interior art, a coordinated back cover, and then assembles the print-ready wraparound spread automatically.

Front cover

The AI designs a full-color cover based on your book's theme and style — typically the book's hero character or motif, colorized and composed with your title, subtitle and author name. Generating a front cover costs 1 credit; regenerating is free, so try a few directions. You can edit text placement and elements before finalizing.

Back cover

The back costs 1 credit and reuses the front's palette and motifs for a matching design, with room reserved for the marketplace barcode (a 2″ × 1.2″ area in the bottom corner that print services stamp automatically — the app keeps it clear for you).

The wraparound spread

Print services want one file for the entire outside of the book: back cover, spine and front cover side by side, plus bleed. The app computes this spread from your exact settings:

  • Trim size — from your Step 2 format choice;
  • Spine width — calculated from your final page count and paper type (white, cream, or color paper each have different sheet thicknesses);
  • Bleed — 0.125″ on all outer edges, per print-on-demand spec.

Change your page count later and the spine recalculates on the next export — nothing to redo by hand.

Spine text

Print-on-demand services only allow text on the spine when the book is thick enough — 79+ pages for paperbacks. Below that, the spine stays blank (this is a marketplace rule, not an app limitation). The app handles the safe margins either way.

Trial accounts

Cover generation is available on paid plans. On the free trial you can build and export the full interior manuscript; upgrade when you're ready to publish (see Credits, plans and billing).
